This weekend, I will be a guest as Huntsville, Alabama’s CRISIS CON! I’ve never been to this one and I’m excited to visit yes indeed. If you’re in or around Alabama I would suggest you all come out and we can hunt ghosts and share laughs and make fun of each other and fart! Sound like a good time?

The lovely Suzy will be attending as my assistant and I will probably be drawing stuff for people and maybe I’ll sell some stuff but we’ll see as I haven’t prepared anything yet and it’s so close. I’ll be having a panel and a showing of girlchan with some QnAs and whatever else you wanna belt out during or after the show. IT’LL BE A RIOT.

I’ve been obsessed with Transformers Animated toys lately. I’ve been trying to COLLECT THEM ALL. Does anybody here collect them? So far my favorite is Oil Slick, his design impresses the shit out of me and makes me wish I was an engineer. How does that beautiful chopper becomes a beautiful robot?

How does that HAPPEN?!?! I transform him and every time I’m like WHAT?!

I could go on a whole thing about how Crackdown goes in a great direction and a bad direction for sandbox gaming, both living up to the name “sandbox” and straying completely away from it. Crackdown 2 felt like Crackdown 1 but with zombies in it, which godamn are fun to kill, right? I mean just plowing through them with the supercar YEEAH.

There was this one part where like I stumbled upon an open cave and I fell into it and it was like “AGENT DON’T BE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A REASON TO BE HERE GET OUT” and it was like, bitch, my reason for being here is to have fun KILLING ZOMBIES and so I proceeded to do so for like 10 minutes. I hate how devs consider plot to be a “reason” to do something when the entire “reason” for playing a game is to have fun.

But that’s just it, Crackdown didn’t automatically teleport me out of there or block me off, it totally just had some old dude yell at me for 5 seconds and then let me have my fun where I technically “wasn’t supposed” to be. How delightful!

But for the past couple years most soda companies have had it so you twist the cap and now you get a code that you have to log on to BillionDollarCompany.com and type in some garbage (for like 4 years because nobody types 58VFSD9nF naturally) after enduring 60 ads and then guess whatYOULOSE.

A company who’s based an entire novelty that doesn’t make a fucking bit of difference on an UNDERSTANDING of how satisfying it is to see FUCKING ENGLISH under the cap of a cold drink finally did both.

They have this Heads or Tails campaign WHO GIVES A SHIT the point is that they put whether you win or lose ON THE CAP and then give you the stupid code nobody could care less about.

So I’ve been super busy with these cutscenes and stuff but I haven’t put off other things (okay maybe I have)

I’m working on a Transformers Flash right now that’s pretty funny so that’ll be out soon, it’s just a little idea I had when playing War for Cybertron online (because who plays singleplayer in shooting games right?)

Anyway yeah so fuck

Youtube has been on my radar lately, I’m saving for a Kodak Zi8 (not much of a save right?) with which I am going to make Live Action movies which I’ve never done before and I’m super scared but I can’t wait to make shit more quickly with because it’s NOT FUCKING HARD so STOP BITCHING you stupidass vbloggers. I have like a billion scripts that’ve been building up over time so I’m excited to start making them FFS because I can only animate so much at one time.

Also Girlchan contest stuff. Updating the Girlchan Website has proven to be a fucking tedious holy shit oh my god task so it’s still being updated to this day, so check back with our unfunny comments about cool art. We had a gigantic turnout, 500+ entries to the contest so it’s really insane and I’m really proud of how everything went. We will announce the winner in the next movie (Girlchan Episode 4), so it’ll be a big surprise for EVERYONE. How fun is that, right? Fucking fun.

Oh and a lot of people have been asking me what happened to Suzy… nothing! We are still happily together and in love! In fact she’s working on a new Fashion Blog that I’m going to be plugging once it’s up. She’s always been an incredible fashionista and now she’s going to use it to keep all the fashion divas online updated on all the hottest looks.

I haven’t posted in a while, SURPRISE. I’ve been spending most of my time working on the cutscenes for Unstoppable, a game JForce Games is making for Xbox Indie Games and PC. It’s coming along super great, and I can’t wait to show you guys how it’s going.

Those who’ve been waiting for Puzzmosis, it’s going smooth, I’ve just been focussed on these cutscenes. We have a few more loose ends to tie up and we’ll be in business.

But let’s talk mano e mano. I’m writing a story right now, and I wanted to see others’ insight on how you write characters. What kind of exercises do you do? What kind of cross examinations do you use? I love writing characters and I’m always looking for the next thing to strengthen them even more.

It’s kinda making headlines and while I typically refuse to speak publicly about articles I think are total bullshit (bad press is better than good press), I’m in that kind of mood. I want this to be brief since I hate wordy shit like the above article is so I’ll try to do this quick.

So the line here is “Spending two hours on a game station is equivalent to taking a line of cocaine in the high it produces.”

First of all lemme just get this out of the way, anybody who calls anything a “game station” has probably never even played a game of Tetris.

The above quote among others was uttered by Steve Pope, a psychotherapist who specializes in addictions, most notably serious drug addictions. He claims that gaming addiction is affecting children mentally and physically (leading to obesity).

Look, there is no study, there is no MRI or anything. This quote is complete ballparked garbage. You cannot produce the results of whatever experiment to back up his claim because they do not exist.

Cocaine addiction is hazardous to you and your health directly. In the long term is can be extremely hazardous and lead to deadly circumstances. There is a reason people seek help when their addiction gets out of control. It may impair all forms of your mental health to a point where you may not be able to function correctly in any way that we as a society would deem “normal” or even “safe.” These claims are true. Factual. They can be backed up by countless studies, although most if not all of the risk comes from the addictions and overdoses.

Here is Pope’s groundbreaking evidence for gaming as a mental health hazard:

“Many footballers are playing on hand-held consoles and computer games before a game and this is resulting in a natural high which is causing a chemical imbalance which is leading to them not performing their best on the pitch.”

Okay, so, playing games impairs, in some observable form, the player’s ability to “perform his/her best” during the playing of a game.

I… I’m lost here?

Bullshit double standards aside, surely doing something that would require some form of mental involvement, like, for example, studying for 2 hours, would also cause these players to not perform their best. You’ve never been burned out from a study session? When we do things… we get tired. You don’t need a psychotherapist to tell you this, all you need is 2 hours and some godamn common sense.

Kids want to have fun. Kids play with action figures and dolls all the time, all day every day, carrying around their favorite toy everywhere they go, but you don’t see asshole psychotherapists telling you it’s a toy addiction.

Playing video games hurts no one, and, for the record, it doesn’t lead to violent behavior. You cannot produce a conclusive study that claims that it does because all of the studies anyone has performed have been completely inconclusive. You have the ability to freely look up research at your fingertips if you’re even reading this. So do it and stop believing every nutjob psycho analyst who wants their moment on The Today Show to promote their own practices by scaring dumb parents.

And above all, it’s insulting to your own child to think that he or she doesn’t know the different between real violence and fantasy violence. EVERYBODY DOES. If you don’t know if he or she does or not, you are clearly not very close to your children, and need some godamn psychiatric help of your own. Children aren’t stupid, and at any rate, it’s your job to make sure that they aren’t anyway.
