Gotta get this out.
Hey guys.
I love you, so I want to be honest about something.
Being in the spotlight for a long enough time makes you feel a lot of pressures, you know, that you should keep doing what everybody likes, that you need to stick to something, that sort of thing, but I’m a creative guy, my mind is all over the place, and I can’t stop the ideas and thoughts from coming out. I get passionate about certain things, and when I feel like it’s completed, or done, I move on to a new project, a new idea.
Right now I’m focusing on a puzzle game that will be finished a little over a month from now and be released online in Flash, specifically on Newgrounds. It will be a lot of fun (it already is) and it will hopefully stick around for a while. I have a few more ideas for a sequel or different versions of it.
This project is taking up all of my time, and I’m not going to pretend like I’m working on a new awesome cartoon or whatever, basically everything else is on hold. Well, that’s not true, I do write, and organize notes constantly about other future projects in my downtime, and I have a LOT of future projects.
Basically, what I’m saying is, I’m not a one trick pony, and it’s hard to balance that image and myself. Arin. My life and my passions are far more than animating video game parodies, and as of late those passions have taken the front seat.
I used to be incredibly disorganized, wasted a lot of time, that sort of thing. But I’ve learned over time how to accomplish things, learn, study, get things done. So I do that, but I can only do so much at one time, you know? Having so much under my belt, you know, the awesome series, Girlchan, Lemon ‘n Bill, it’s kind of a shot in the foot, telling the world I’m going to be sticking to conventions, staying with a flow, but those kinds of flows are outside of my current situation.
I feel like I’ve done this kind of thing often, you know, saying the awesome series was over, making an Awesome DVD, but I want to be straight about WHY. The reason is that… I’m human. I get excited and bored easily, I love exploring new possibilities, new ways to tell jokes, new ways to play games, make games, the world is a sandbox. I’ve given up on working on great ideas I’ve had for flash movies because I thought my time would be better spent making an awesome cartoon or a Girlchan.
It’s not that I’ve been playing to the crowd, it’s that I’ve been limiting myself to the crowd. It’s like, I don’t try to force it out, but I only really listen to myself when it comes out about those topics, you know? I’ve been wanting that to change, and I think being public about it is a step forward.
I know everybody who visits this blog, who watches my twitter, who is friends on facebook with me is a fan of the Awesome series, or Girlchan, or god forbid Lemon ‘n Bill haha. I am so grateful to you all, but with that I am also asking you to understand me as a person as well. I guess it’s in bad form to be so personal about my work, but that’s just how I am, I like being personal with fans, it is something that I always have wished about the people I admire, and I would hate to be that guy who does great things but is kind of a standoffish dick, haha.
So, I’m truly sorry that a new awesome cartoon is taking so long to come out, a new girlchan taking so long to come out, lemon ‘n bill is not weekly like I promised, but, you know, things happen, energies transfer, lives change. I feel like I stress myself out over trying to get something serial out, stay consistent, but when it comes down to it, I’m the least consistent person ever. I am all over the place, and I always want to change and do different things. I don’t want you to think I’m being mean or lazy by not making an awesome cartoon or whatever, the complete opposite. I’m working constantly.
I am not saying there will be no more awesome cartoons or girlchan, the idea of new ones excites me, but I can’t really say for sure when or what they will be. Everybody wants an answer, and I can’t really give you any. I suppose you can admire the beauty of the unpredictability of my work. After all, comedy is the unexpected.
But I’ve promised Metal Gear Awesome 3, Girlchan 3, and new Lemon ‘n Bills, and they will exist. Just how and when, I cannot really say right now. It seems silly for me to tell you to stick with me on that note, especially since I neglect my blog so much (FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER DAMNIT) but I’m always creating, ALWAYS, that is the one thing I am absolutely sure of, so I always try to keep things interesting to some degree. =)
When this game is finished, I have a bunch of projects to start on. What one interests me the most at that time will be the one I pursue. Games, movies, anything. Who knows? You’ll probably hear about it, though.
I feel a little better having written this. Once again I’m eternally grateful for the support everybody has given me for my work. And once again I’m not saying anything is coming to an end, but that I am a human being, I am an artist, I need to explore all of my ideas, all of my passions, and giving myself an aneurysm about making something I don’t particularly want to make right now is not something I feel like I have the energy to deal with.

December 7th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
I feel your pain! In order to deal with cartoons my fans want to see, I just give them tentative, but realistic release dates, and create what I want to make in the meantime. I enjoy fan feedback, but understand that I can’t please everyone, so I don’t bother. As long as I’m happy and enjoying myself, then that is all that matters!
December 7th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Don’t worry about the fame that’s at your feet. Just do what you want to do. If they’re real fans, they’ll hang around. Everyone else will just go fap to the Hentai section of NG.
December 7th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Deep brah.
Deep.
December 7th, 2009 at 1:55 pm
i wouldn’t worry about it, I understand completely. You need to do what you need to do and you shouldn’t let pressure stop you.
December 7th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
It’s okay, Arin! We still think you’re amazing, no matter what. And the “fans” who whine and complain about what they consider to be “slow updates” can go suck it. They obviously don’t understand what it’s like to have a real life. Thanks for your honesty, and good luck in everything you do… I know I speak for a crap ton of other fans when I say I’m not about to stop supporting you (at least to a degree I’m capable of, haha).
December 7th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
As long as you do what you want we always will suport. No matter how long it takes, your fans will be there hoping for the best of Arin.
December 7th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Dude, don’t sweat it.
I shift between a million different projects all the time. I’ve got computer parts strewn everywhere… covered in Magic cards… covered in volumes of manga… covered in sheets of pseudocode… covered in sketches… you get the idea.
My home folder contains over9000 text files, brains storms, subdirectories.
One hobby for a while has been to collect stuff. Let’s just say I collect collections.
Just keep up the good work, no matter what that work is. Do your best, and work on what you like, and like what you feel like liking.
No need to get stressed about doing things you love… you love to do them for a reason. Just shift with the flow. No one will persecute you (except the idiots) for not giving them the exact free content they want to enjoy. ;P You made some cool stuff so I became a fan. You didn’t make the awesome series, girlchan, etc. because I wanted them, rather, because you made them, I became a fan. Simple as that.
Doing more things, and some things differently will only increase the surface area of tastes covered by your works, lol. You can only get newer fans, and if someone’s already a fan, hopefully they like your past works enough to stick around.
It’s all good, just sweat it, and good luck
December 7th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Like everyone above me has said, just don’t worry about it Arin. Make what you want to make, and people who truly respect you and what you do will continue to support your work. I for one am very interested in this puzzle game and can’t wait to see how it turns out.
December 7th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
If you didn’t evolve artistically I would have been worried.
December 7th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Take all the time you need.
December 7th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Don’t worry, Arin. Just take your time.
December 7th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
As long as your works delivers, I dont see a problem..
best of luck for the game! cheers mate
December 7th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
As a fan that\\\’s been following your work since DBZ in a nutshell, I\\\’ll be the first to say that your fan base won\\\’t be calling for your head since you\\\’re devoting energies elsewhere. You\\\’ve given us more than enough content in the past to quote tirelessly that we aren\\\’t always clamoring for even more quality entertainment. Do what you you do, and we\\\’ll be looking forward to any and everything you work on. Cheers!
December 7th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
You got shit to do, its understandable. The people who dont understand, is just people who are still in developing of who they are and who will they be. Just do whats comes 1st to YOU.
December 7th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
You’re one of the most self-driven people I know. This is not bad news in any way. At least you’re still feeling the creative drive and sucking it dry. Keep on suckin’.
December 7th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I feel ya here dude. Do what you gotta do. You\\\’re a talented guy and have every right to pursue what YOU want. Follow YOUR dreams and don\\\’t be motivated by the crowd or people who want you to do it their way. Looking forward to all of your future projects (especially this puzzle gane. It sounds puzzling.)
December 7th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
Dude if you keep making me laugh i’m behind you 100% I’m sure I can speak for a lot by saying that. You are a great innovator of comedy and it’s why I have been watching your videos for as long as I can remember Haha.. even all the way back to your FF7 parody i found on Deviant art a long time ago XD Regardless as long as your happy and always smiling then your living a good life.
December 7th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
and here i thought you would finally come out of the closet…
dont worry, just kidding of course! ;D
take you time, i bet everyone will understand that. and i really like this approach to be honest! i bet this will benefit the result of every other project you have right now =D
im looking forward to play that game you mentioned^^
December 7th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Honestly, if you exist on the internet, someone will come after you for something. I don’t do shit but if I step the wrong way, someone gets mad. Lol so I guess I’m saying it’s inevitable but I’m glad that you are finally.. well I don’t want to say “coming into your own” because that’s just such a creepy pedo phrase, but going your way on things. And no matter what you will have fans. When I was about 12 I was a huge fan of the “In a Nutshell” series, and I didn’t even know they were you until years later, and now like 8 years later I’m still a fan (albeit unknowingly). You have 2000+ people following you on twitter, interested in what you actually have to say, reading your updates, replying to you creepily at awkward times… (what? why I’d never–!), and there’s probably plenty more fans who will never make a twitter for whatever reason but still want to follow you ~deep inside.
And also goddamn, look at all the accomplishments you’ve made over this past year alone! You moved all the way across the country, which in my onion is huge, you’ve hosted panels at conventions, created winning flash videos, and to top that all off, you have learned not to procrastinate. Which you have to fucking teach me because this paper I have not started writing and this oral exam (mm oral) I need to study for in a completely different language are seriously punching me in the face.
But enough of my ~witty commentary~ and obnoxious selfcenteredness/insensitivity, just remember that there will always be fans lurking in the shadows and compulsively reading your twitter updates, because they honestly are interested in what you are coming out with, and are happy sit back and let you work the way you want to work
(fuck I failed my captcha)
December 7th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
more time means more care put into it. Good luck!
December 7th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Do you what you feel the best doing. Wouldn’t we be selfish to turn our backs on you just because you want to try something new?
I don’t know anything about your work, you know, how it’s done and stuff. but as long as you feel good doing it, keep it up. I’m stuck in a job I don’t like, I feel like I’m wasting my life, I wish I was more like you, and knew what I want to do.
I’ll support you, and I know many others will too, coz we’re your fukken fans!
Finland out.
December 7th, 2009 at 6:57 pm
lemon n bill is a videogame parody??
December 7th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
your not a human…..your EGORAPTOR!
nah seriously tho dude i feel it. Thats sum deep shit man
December 7th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
Wish you luck, can’t wait for the game and what ever comes after that, I don’t care when Girlchan 3 or any more Awesomes come out, just so long as whatever you make is awesome. (no pun intended)
December 7th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 7th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
I completely understand what you’re going through. Okay, maybe not COMPLETELY, but I know that you’re human. You’re not the plaything of your fans. XD
I can’t even stick to one project, much less what you’re dealing with.
I just wanted to comment so I can cheer you on. You’re an amazing artist and an awesome person! =D
December 7th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
To be completely honest, I’m glad. I want you to do work you’re putting your heart into. Hang in there. :U
December 7th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
I see where you are coming from, and I had plenty of ideas for Flash movies, yet lacked patience and the knowledge of the program to churn them out. Hell, I started a series of my own before I had Flash in high school, but got stuck with what to come up with next. (I first did it on lined paper, but moved it into a spiralbound sketchbook.)
December 7th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
What nalem said. You’ll feel much more satisfied with yourself and in the long run if you stick with what you feel like you should do. And the beauty of the matter is that you’re allowed to do that being an artist. Your real fans will be able to respect that.
December 7th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
This is rather off topic, but last night i had a dream about you. Hold on, its not as gay as it sounds. AAAAannnnyways, i won a ticket or something to a convention you were at. I was up at the booth and your constantly making smoothies (For whatever reason) i asked you some question you gave me some answer, then went back to making your smoothies. Then i went and did some other stuff and then all the sudden i was in a boat. There was a bunch of people in the boat and we went speeding off the water, onto the ground, and crashed into your booth. You got up and were rather relieved. You said something like “Well at least I’m glad i can stop making these smoothies.”
-DREAM END-
Sooooooooo, yeah i’m sure it was just some random bullshit but after reading thought it was worth typing out. Just keep doing what ever you do, i would follow you on twitter but i really don’t use it that much. If anything i’m glad you keep making new shit, as much as i love the awesome series, things can get pretty boring if you don’t have your heart in it. Have you seen the AVGN’s videos lately? It seems like he doesn’t even care. Also, i know your heavily into game design right now so try testing “Knytt Stories” out. I’m not trying to advertise for it but it is a cutesy little plat-former with its own level creation. Now i don’t know to much about the level editor, but you might be able to put that to use. Anyways, we’ll support you no matter what, and keep doing what you do.
December 7th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
you are a beast dude. ill wait for however long you want man. What you got is art going and you can never rush it. Take your time and know you got fans ready to love anything you create.
peace dude and good luck being who you are.
December 7th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
Awesome Halo confirmed!?????
December 7th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Awesome Halo Confirmed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????
December 7th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
cool story bro…
you sound like a parody of an artist
December 7th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
please just, follow your egoraptor dreamz and desirez! any fans of you who aren’t jackasses would agree
December 7th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Hey, don’t worry about it. I cannot wait for the next Girlchan… I dream about it… but I don’t want anything that’s forced, I don’t want you to ruin a genius series by not being your awesome spontaneous self. Take your time, no pressure, we’re rootin for ya.
December 7th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
Hey man, stick with your feelings. If you are devoted to something see it through. By pushing it away you just face the chances of losing it to time. Do what makes you happy. Do what feel right. Keep it the way you want it, do not conform to everyone’s blabbing. The real fans will be willing to wait for you and be happy with whatever you do.
Hopefully THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING.
December 7th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
Hey man, I’m the same way. I’m always getting ideas for characters and then coming up with new ones, and then I make ANOTHER one. It’s a vicious cycle. We understand. Your finished products will be better if they’re more inspired.
December 8th, 2009 at 1:24 am
Don’t worry about it man. Ross Scott who made Freeman’s Mind and Civil Protection was working his butt off to keep up and almost burned out. Just take it easy and try not to feel rushed. Rushing things only lowers its quality.
December 8th, 2009 at 1:36 am
We’re behind you 100%. It’s good to see that you’re following your heart. We want you to do what you do because YOU want to do it. ^_^
December 8th, 2009 at 1:46 am
Take your time! If you rush it or don’t have fun making it why even make it, fans or not? Do what you want/need to do.
REAL fans will support you all the way (Not pester you and call you slow)! Take all the time ya need! We all know that whatever you make will be awesome and worth the wait! (^_^)V
I know what it’s like to be buried under millions of projects, and having millions of ideas in your head. :\ Soon i’m buying Flash animator (FINALLY) so that adds even more things for me to do YAY -.-’
December 8th, 2009 at 8:22 am
I think most of the your fans are shouting “WHAAAAAAAAAT?” when reading that, but meh you gotta think yourself. There isnt any man who would be able to work all the time. I pretty much was gona write the same stuff as Kalie H. (Apart from millions ideas and flash making, since I’m exacly opposite), so I’m not gona repeat.
Have fun & enjoy.
December 8th, 2009 at 8:27 am
Well everyones pretty much said all the deep response and heart warmingness so ill sum up what i can i can.
being a great artist has it’s ups and downs like a rollercoaster.
well…pretty much everything does but what im trying to say is take a break from the coaster cause you have all the time in the world to ride it again and not be expected to thrill seek every second of the second.
i hope to be a great 3D animator one day and even though you flash animate, your cooky crazyness inspires me!
saying what you have to say on this blog is not what many artists do but your very open and honest which deserves a lot respect.
you out of anyone i know deserves a break.
to be honest…i look up to you like an older bro.
keep it real man!
l8s
December 8th, 2009 at 9:43 am
Yeah man, you’re like a rollercoaster!
In all seriousness, I think you should quit all of your current projects, forget all your future plans, and give me some animation lessons. =D:P:P=D=D:p
pLeEaAsE?
December 8th, 2009 at 10:34 am
Make love to me arin! i want you! Hahahahahaha…im serious…love me! why wont you love me! im your biggest fan! By the way i know where you live.
December 8th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I value you as a person FIRST (before your videos) – I myself have put myself through so much stress over the past year that I have had some pretty dark thoughts and stuff.
If you need a break – Take A FUCKING BREAK!!! You’re a great guy (i’m still upset I have been unable to meet you in person yet), do what’s best for YOURSELF first.
Have a good day man, laze around some.
December 8th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
cant wait to see your flash ego
December 8th, 2009 at 6:39 pm
WE UNDERSTAND YOU, EGO!
Just like you said, you are creative and we as loyal fans will support you any way it’s possible!
December 8th, 2009 at 8:41 pm
Well, I’m completly speechless because all you’ve said is right, and must be respected.
Though I have a “business” question: are you available for voice acting for my LOOOOONG upcoming videogame?
Well, gimme a note if you’re interested and I’ll give you more info
December 8th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Dude, do not even worry about it. We’ll just take whatever you decide to throw our way, and you can be damn sure we’ll love it. Do what you feel like man, otherwise it probably wont be as inspired. If people cant handle that… well, fuck’em. You just keep being awesome, man!
December 8th, 2009 at 10:32 pm
Its your voice acting that keeps me coming back
December 8th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Take your time and do what you want! : D
You do so much amazing stuff as it is, it was only a matter of time before it all caught up to ya dude. If we gotta wait a super long time for a new Awesome/Girl-Chan/Lemon-n’-Bill, so be it! I’d rather a super guy like you do what you like at your pace and have it come out super-ultra-mega-fantastical then have you try to crank things out for the impatient fans!
So make that game of yours the best darn Ego-game it can be, ’cause I’m certainly looking forward to it! If that blob thingy animation you posted a while ago is any animation, its going to be quite the doozy ^_^
December 9th, 2009 at 1:06 am
Dude, everyone knows you’re busy. We’re just excited to see your work
Take a break if you have to. Some Mangakas can take breaks lasting over 2 years *cough* HXH *cough*
Take a ride on the Cole train, baby
December 9th, 2009 at 4:39 am
take a break,
simple yet effective
December 9th, 2009 at 8:11 am
Just don’t give in too much from the pressure. Those who cannot wait are not REAL fans or followers, they can’t understand.
Good luck and Take Care y0. I and some of your more patient fans are just chillin’ for a new update.
PEACE
December 9th, 2009 at 10:21 am
Dont worry mate, I can understand it completely, I’am bit of a artist myself and I know you can’t be creative on demand.
I know about a online comic you maybe know who had the same problem, the guy who made it was just done with it you know, so he stopped the cartoon and getting a lot of hatemail. I didn’t blame him, the guy did a page every week for over a few years… So I don’t blame you either, offcourse I love to see new awesome shit, but take your time dude, take your time.
Ow yeah, the comic was called rpgworld, great stuff mate, to bad the site is down…
December 9th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Ok, that makes sense. I feel like if you reach the point when it’s not as fun to make people laugh and entertain them then it’s just not worth the effort. Personally, I feel like a lot of the pressure to see a new girlchan is based on the fact that it’s just…perfect. It’s so witty and satirical and balls-out stupid that it could be an anime in itself – but I won’t say it’s the best thing you’ve ever done because well…as your audience, we have yet to see what you’ll think of next. And like you said, the possibilities are endless. Such is the artist.
December 9th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
If you’re going to be consistent about one thing Egoraptor, always stay true to yourself and believe in your passions. Godspeed.
December 9th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
I still love you, if that counts.
December 9th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Ego pouring his heart out…kind of erot–
I know the feeling, dude. Any kind of creative work that puts you in the spotlight or necessitates a back and forth with an audience (especially one as extensive as yours has become) can cause you to take on a different perspective, and unfortunately, that perspective sometimes throws a wrench in the spokes of the creative process itself. You love interacting with viewers and fans, and their continued support in whatever form is endearing and valuable, but at the same time, there’s almost an invisible pressure that gets put on, an obligation you feel you need to almost stick to.
And to be honest, it might have something to do with the response you get whenever you release something new. Whether it’s something big like Girlchan or an update to the Awesome series, or even something relatively smaller, like Lemon and Bill. The reaction and attention is very seductive in its appeal, and we often do fall into the trap of wanting to be forcibly productive. The problem with that, as it sounds from what you said, is that it can become a bit claustrophobic and stressful, especially when your mind is roaming and you want to output a multitude of different things. The creative mind wanders, and as much as you write and think of ideas and plan, it can become overwhelming when you consider that there is still an audience involved, waiting for you. Because heaven forbid we fall out of the spotlight and people lose interest.
I just want to say that, least of all, you’re one of the few people on the web who has to worry about. My best advice to you is to not think too much about the theatrics involved in trying to impress people or dazzle people with a triumphant return, or anything like that. You’ve been doing a damn fine job this entire time, and with each movie you release, we get a true sense of your personality and heart. All of them scream Arin/Ego, albeit in sufficiently different ways.
Bottom line is (and this is something we lose sight of from time to time) this: write for yourself. Animate for yourself. Do whatever it is you want to do. Your primary lens should be you, and the things you want to do. Secondary should be us.
Although occasionally, it WOULD be nice if you thought of us–
Just kidding. We’ll always be here, dude.
Lo–er, Sincerely,
Elias

p.s. screw twitter
December 9th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
As an artist, or simply a creative person myself i completely understand.
If i had to choose between drawing something that makes everyone happy, that ensures my popularity, like Naruto and Sasuke making out opposed to drawing something that makes ME happy, like… clouds, people, images with meaning and emotion. Well… i already chose the second option.
Many people won’t understand you, because they only see you as an entertainer that has to attend to their boredom, and make them laugh.
But there will also be many who will be excited to learn and grow with you. See your progress, and see your failures. Encourage you to do what you love. Like many people who left their comments above me.
We love you <3
December 9th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
TL;DR
kidding…
listen we know you’re your own person and you like experimenting. that’s been obvious for quite a while. no one expects you to stick with one idea the entire time but i think we all know what works and what doesn’t. You’re good at parody. awesome at it even (har har). One price you have to pay for experimentation however is not everything you do will be loved. there are people who are only going to want to see awesome series work from you. if you can learn to deal with them and move on it’s going to be a benefit to you. you don’t need to be apologetic, just do what you do best.
one thing you shouldn’t do, though, is say you’re going to do something you aren’t. as soon as you do that then you’re committed. then you have to do it regardless of whether you want to or not. that’s what work is about.
IMO you’re doing fine. just be honest with yourself and everyone else and try planning things before jumping right in; that way you wont lose motivation because you know what to look ahead to
December 9th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
So, what, you think we’re gonna be pissed? We’re just gonna say “Well, fuck Arin, he’s tapped.” No, man. FUCKIN’ NO. It’s not happening. Do whatcha do, with your creativity I have no doubt the puzzle qame will be intriguing AND addictive. And good job deciding not to play to the crowd. Good luck!
December 9th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
Yeah dood, you got some of the best fans in the world (as you can see) and we all know that you’re human. We’ll stick around though. I enjoy your work and I’ll wait however long it takes, and I’m sure everyone else here thinks the same. That’s what being a fan is all about. We’d follow you to the ends of the earth and the only thing that we wouldn’t accept is for you to make stuff that you yourself don’t enjoy or want to do. So don’t worry, take your time, make whatever you want to make at whatever pace you need and we’ll be here to give you support
December 9th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
dude I’m looking forward to whatever you have. Quite honestly I’d like to see some of your ideas beside your usual stuff.
I felt the same way about my music – I was limiting myself to metal, then I released a song that nobody would have expected from me, and it was really awesome! I have, since that point onward, been constantly changing my instrument focus, although I usually go back around and mix it with my metal.
So even if it’s not a new Awesome cartoon or a new Girlchan, it would be new and entertaining in a different way, and I would definitely watch it.
December 9th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
man whatever you come out with, im probably destined to laugh at it. i was on the edge of watching girlchan but it was the funniest thing ever! i know what youre talking bout wanting to express yourself in everyway as an artist. im a guitarist, drawer, and soccer player and i try to be as creative as possible in all those things. even if you somehow manage to have something thats not your best work, or some people dont like it, ill stick by ya cuz i know youll bounce right back. youre def one of my favorite animators, so keep up the creativity! no matter how long it takes, ill be anticipating it with patience. good luck egoraptor!
December 10th, 2009 at 3:13 am
Thanks to you for your honesty and for taking the time to us, Its time to be more relax with you, we love youre work and your person in Mexico, you know?. Did you see Christ Super Star? if you say yes I remembrised the scene in that all the leprous (us) wants a miracle of our pain jejeje, well I just over do it je, but i undestand you as many of us, just remember youre a great person with a much talent, sometimes you have to rest and taking vacations like santa claus or the coyote, Well I will follow you in Twitter see ya’, take care men.
December 10th, 2009 at 3:44 am
You take your time bro. Genius isn’t something that should be rushed…cuz thats what you are..a muthalickin genius.
December 10th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Do what you want to do. Whatever you get passionately into – from what I’ve seen – becomes a creative explosion of win. When you get passionate, you put the details flowing straight from your soul into whatever you’re working on. You’re a funny, talented, creative guy. Anyone that would want you to focus on one thing would be limiting your creative potential.
Time for corny: “Don’t believe in yourself; Believe in me that believes in you!”
Really did wish you had gotten to voice-act Kamina, though. You have the enthusiastic voice I would think Kamina would have.
December 10th, 2009 at 10:48 am
Thats the beauty of life my friend
just go out there and explore not only the world but urself!
Im also grateful for ur thoughtfulness, its not easy telling ur fans whats goin on with ur personal life but im just glad that u kinda let us know whats goin on in ur life.
So long story short:
Go get em tiger ;D
Wish u the besttttt
December 10th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
i understand completely and i dont want u to stress out over what the fans want do what you need to do and dont let anyone hold you back. when a new awesome movie or girlchan or lemon and bill or anything with your name on it comes out i always end up checking it out and i will be playing your puzzle game and i will always watch all of your videos and interviews cuz i love all of your work dont feel down because u think ur not giving the fans wat they want because if they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re egoraptor fans like me then what the fans want is u and all of your comedy goodness
December 10th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
To be honest I kind of wish you wouldn’t stick to the awesome series and Girl-chan and junk. I like the idea of you doing whatever you want, I think when you do different things they seem more funny. Like 3rd grade Transformers, completely different and unexpected but it made me watch it over and over laughing each time. So what I’m trying to say is that me and many others are encouraging you to do what your heart is telling you to do, not just what everyone is used to and demands.
December 10th, 2009 at 5:30 pm
Arin, dude!
We hang around because of YOU!
You’re the awesome.
We love the awesome series etc. because it came from YOUR happy, effervescent mind.
Whatever you want to make is what we want to see!
…Also some more poundcake. XD
December 10th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Holy shit, that’s a lot of love.
December 10th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
I want you to know that your creativity and amazing sense of humor are always a pleasure to watch. Your flashes are only a part of who you are, and they’re only one of the ways you express your creativity and passion. As its already been said, if anyone here is a true fan, they’ll stick around and see what other crazy and awesome stuff you come up with. A lot of people I know are feeling like they need to break free and do what they want, and I say go for it!! After what I’ve read so far on these comments, I can say that everybody here will back you up no matter what you decide to do. Thank you, for being awesome!
December 10th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Now that…is true fan support = D

December 11th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Egopeteryxypantradoxi-Veliciraptor, (<—- scientific name)
Charismatic, sensible, inviting, warm spirited, enlightening, rich in essence, NOT PRETENTIOUS, easy going, youthful, and most certainly loveable.
Talented, Gifted, morally structured (tis true), Multiple perspectives, normal emotions, incredible flocculation of both.
Healthy, active, outgoing, friendly, skilled, compassionate, outright intelligent, amazingly rich in fiber (roots. videogames) witty, clever,
AWESOME.
This is you Ego, this is who you are. If there were any more antonyms to use, the only one I could think of is EGORAPTOR. You are inspiring. People, including your fans, look up to you. They see something exquisitely unique in your humor and talent, and their own ego within (aside from all the id and s.ego bullshit) take YOU under their wing. They (well, we) are embellished by your utter amazingness. There are people across the world in places like Mexico, Belgium, Finland and such that would all contemplate a way to sneak into the states to see you somehow. Aside from that, every single one of them see something in you that they see in themselves. (<– Italicized) they RELATE to you. I mean CHRIST, Webster’s had your picture next to awesome in the dictionary forever now, where have you been?
Thus being said, we care for your well being, and would love to continue seeing the inspiration of ego, whether its you sitting on your ass all day playing Ghosts n’ Goblins or Little Nemo Dream Master with friends, or you producing some of the best vg (Videogame) material and voice acting the west coast and weird ass internet has ever seen. (ha :b)
Whatever you do, just remember to have fun while doing so! If you have to, take some time for yourself if you want or need it, no matter what. You only get one life, so enjoy the ride and make some kick ass lemonade man. Its true, there is alot of pressure to strive and achieve greatness, but everyone needs to take a break now and then. rest is important.. along with doing what you truly enjoy the most. Just work at your own pace, and if thats not good enough for the “belligerent” crowd, than they can all just go look for the princess in another fucking castle lol.
Unveiling yourself from such a situation usually is a very big burden lifted from your chest, (i.e. moving to the mountains which would be awesome btw) as long as you have a goal in mind. always work towards something, moving on to bigger and better things, in the pursuit of knowledge, health, compassion and well being. You have a good head on your shoulders Arin, just stay positive!
I don’t know if I said this already.. but you speak so much truth! Not just in your flash videos and series, but in your everyday talk and your beliefs. You hold firm on what you like and dislike, and that is a great quality to possess. One thing you SHOULD NEVER FEEL BAD FOR is THE TALENT YOU POSSESS THOUGH. You have been granted with an amazing gift from Egoraptor Jesus that rarely anyone in this satirical society ever sees. OMG, someone thats incredibly gifted and funny also bears compassion and normal thoughts? WHA-WUHHHH???? pfft.
But seriously Ego, your amazing. We don’t know what we would do without you. Have fun, enjoy the reason for the evening even if it wasn’t even for a cause, and continue to show kindness towards others. It be true, you can attract more bees with honey rather than vinegar. But alas, Arin! You have achieved so much more than belligerent minds could ever even hope of accessing! You have broken the chain, stepped away from the pack, and saved the positive moral structure of amazingness which you built from what you have persevered through life. You are a beautiful man Ego
ahh… but anyhow, I’m probably rambling haha. I don’t even know if you feel this anymore, this post was a year ago bwagrgahha. But I just read this, and I almost got teary eyed so I just had to reply. I’d do anything to help man. You have people who respect you, THAT AREN’T the fucking d-bag trolls and internet tough guys, that try to offer the same amount of truth that you give them, every DAY. (let that sink in for a moment..)
But honestly Arin egomah-pottamus buh, da uhh.. Jesus raptor, your great. We all love you, and would love to cheer you up when your down. Its what your fuckin awesome fan base does
Just remember, it may seem like the rollercoaster of life can go down and up, all which ways, spiraling throughout the emotional universe forever.. but in reality, its just life. remember, itsall’ normal.
STAY POSITIVE MAN!
Sincerely, with the utmost diligence of importance of your fan base,
Love ~ C
~and fan base. :3

December 11th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Arin, without reading the other replies. I think that for one person, to create so much, is an amazing acheivement. The fact that one person, can inspire so many people is a rare and brillient trait to have.
Myself, as a fan, im not a fan of the awesome series, im a fan of egoraptor. You take life by the raigns and grab every oppertunity that is available to you.
My reply may not be worth the weight of another reply. But i damned well show my support!

December 13th, 2009 at 7:44 am
dude, lol ya should know as fans we support ya all the way…if we were ta just abandon ya just because ya not doing an awesome vid, or Girlchan, or Lemon n Bill; then that means we weren’t real fans to begin with…
I just like everything ya do man…infact your quite inspiring to me…everytime i see some of ya art on the webz…i know i have to step up my own game…and good luck to ya in what every ya do man…Your fans are behind ya 100% in whatever ya do
December 13th, 2009 at 11:06 am
Hey man, no pressure. They can wait, they have lives. Fuck ‘em, go at your own pace.
December 14th, 2009 at 1:33 am
Fuck yeah, Arin.
I’m glad to hear that you’re planning on expanding your art and running with new ideas. You’re talented as hell and it’s becoming noticable that trying to please one specific crowd over and over was starting to bog you down a bit. I look forward to future incarnations of your imagination.
December 14th, 2009 at 5:50 pm
I don’t think it’s bad tod o an announcement like that about your work, is not something necesary but still a good thing to know where are you in this moment. It’s good to expand yourself to new horizons and it would be sad an unhealthy for you to stick only with awesome, girlchan, etc.
There will be always fans of whatever you do, but the most important thing is you doing what you want to do, no matter if fans get angry or don’t understand.
Just have fun with whatever you do and specially enjoy it!!!
December 15th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Wow, a hold on Awesome and Girlchan? Fuck you Arin you fucking faggot bastard I fucking hate you, you piece of shit you artists are all the same.
HaHa…no I’m just kidding, I support you and stuff like everyone else and as long as what you do produce when you produce it is enjoyable I will remain a fan, and either way what you have accomplished so far along with the work of the swell artists on newgrounds will still inspire me to pursue my own growth of artistic talent despite my current mediocrity.
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10000 kicks once but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10000 times.”
December 15th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
I don’t care what anyone says… that took a lot of courage to come out like that. At least, most of the people I know wouldn’t be caught dead not taking the opportunity to pander to the masses in exchange for massive amounts of reliable cash.
You’re staying true to yourself and not taking the easy road so many before you have. That looks extremely good on you. Keep up the good work and remember: it’s always better to have satisfied yourself at the end of the day because you always have to live with yourself, you know.
December 16th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
I think it’s odd how these people act like they’re your best friend. But anyway, you have done good work in the past, and a break would do good to remedy the stale shit- Like lemon and Bill, and that hellish transformers parody… thing…
December 17th, 2009 at 4:29 am
I been trying to break every rule and found out the on thing you cant mess with is time you cant fastforward it, stop it, or rewind it, you can control almost anything in YOUR world exep time however with “time” you can be sure it will always constantly flow and there is alot of it use it for whatever you want if u use time on somthing you will always have time to work on something else later Im an artist too and the best part about creating shit is enjoying it and not giving a fuck about anything else exept for the fact that in that creation you are god and you control everything in it i think thats why for srtists is fun to explore different concepts like games flash drawing music they are all different canvases to create new worlds so in conclusion keep doing ure thing there is nothing more valuable in this wolrd than knowledge and u get that by experimenting new things who knows you could come up with something bigger better and awsomer than the awsome series ….IN some time
December 19th, 2009 at 11:05 am

December 22nd, 2009 at 4:03 am
Jesus fucking christ. Get over yourself already. I like your cartoons as much as everyone else, but holy crap dude, calm the fuck down. You’re like a Z list celebrity, even by internet standards. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and continue to kick ass like always.
Also, I’d like to say I’m quite interested in this puzzle game.
December 23rd, 2009 at 3:56 am
Maybe you should take a break off of some stuff.Focus on one thing.(Which is pretty much what you said in your blog) Im not gonna go out preaching on about this, but really,I understand you are just a guy that likes playing games, makin friends, and creating things. And I see your problem by trying to make something awesomer than what was previously titled “Awesomest”.But seeing how you have alot of emails and comments that are paragraphs, you probably not going to have much time reading this at all.But if you did, thanks and I hope you find the time to do every thing you have planned! oh,and merry christmas.
December 23rd, 2009 at 12:34 pm
I think it’s great you’re taking more time for your other projects. An artist needs to change. You need this extra time not only to enjoy yourself but to explore the possibilities of your talents. Good luck on all of it, Arin, I’m sure everything will come out great. If you find you have a passion for making games, make all the games you need to. You will never HAVE to make anything (aside from paid gigs, of course…), but don’t feel an obligation to your supporters.
December 25th, 2009 at 5:09 am
Hey man, I’ve been following you around the internet for some time. And in my opinion you should do what you feel is right. Being stripped of your creative freedom is like being in a prison.
The pressure is natural, you created something all of us never saw before. But if you feel like changing, that is all up to you.
Remember that alot of people consider you as a great artist. Just do what you feel is right, and everything will be fine.
(Making mistakes is what artists and people in general do, otherwise you will not learn)
December 25th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
wow…
thats alot of devoted fans!
take all the time you need.. and do what you feel you need to do and such….and whatever the others said! XD

Wow, you are loved by many
buts (no pun arin >3>), as u can clearly see *extremely clearly* we understand ya, i think…
But, yeah! i miss watching ur flashes, and i cant wait for the next ones, but ur absolutely right. you is human, an uber awesome human thing who makes awesome flash vids and drawings that make me wanna huddle up in a corner and sob till theres no tomorrow but still wanna do better in my own art!
you should just take a moment and breath! relax and take a bubble bath! even if its just a 13 second deep breath, you dont have to worry cause your fans adore you and your work, and they’ll wait, cause you’re worth it!
Again, you’ve most probably dont even know, or care who i am, but i personally think ur a great person ^^ you have tons of talent and you’re using it amazingly.
sorry if im overbearing u in praise XD So remember, just relax! =3

Enjoy yourself, its the holidays ^^ Happy holidays btw
December 27th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
People don’t really care about the time you spend to make it(unless its like…well…5 years?),but the animation/game must be awesome.
BTW,happy Christmas,and happy new year.
December 27th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
Look, I get how you are getting pissed with everybody asking you the same questions all the time. But isn’t it your freakin’ job to put out videos and games! I mean its been like two months since you did anything and frankly I am starting to get sick of waiting. You want people to stop complaining, MAKE A FREAKIN’ PRODUCT. Is all i’m saying.
December 28th, 2009 at 12:19 am
Renegade…
being an animator…is a very demanding job
now im not putting you on the spot but people sometimes need to vent out some emotional things to get off their chests.
this is one of those times.
it’s important as fans that we not only support him all the way, but to also be there for encouragement and commend his efforts for entertaining people around the world who watch.
its a great bond between fan and artist.
i hope to one day become a professional 3D animator since i cant make flash. you just never know when you need your fans one day when you have them. (not saying i have any since its totally irrelevant).
what im saying in a few short words is.
Ego needs us to be there for him and we will back him up on anything 110% of the way!

VidGameDude you do have a point. And I do have a great respect for egoraptor and his work. And I do support his work but we must ask, who is ego doing this for?
His fans or himself.
If him or somebody can show me proof that ego does his work FOR HIS FANS, I will stand by with you and cheer him on.
But if he is doing this because it is his job, he must show us new content.
Ego, I love ya man but you got to show me proof that you are working for us not for yourself.

I am perfectly 100% about my sexuality, and I fucking mean it when I say I love you. No homo, of course. But I respect you, man. My day is instantly brightened when I watch one of your cartoons.
I went through a rough break up recently. You know what kept me happy?
“COFFEE FOR EVERYONE!!!”
School isn’t going so well, socially. Know what keeps my spirits up?
….Whenever I have diarrhea, but it doesn’t hurt when it comes out. GOD that is satisfying.
In summary, keep on keepin’ on. Every single one of your fans fucking loves you and we will always be behind you.

We understand
. Just take your time and don’t force your art, cause that’s what it is, ART.
And we are the ones who should thank you, you make the people laugh, and laugh is a powerful weapon, don’t underestimate your work.
Be sure, that we’ll wait you… or at least i’ll do haha.
Bye!

Creativity is what makes an artist who they are, whether they be an animator, film director, musician, or whatever. I love the Awesome series, but if you have another great idea and make it into a movie, I’m all for it, as I really enjoy your work.

can some one tell wat i need to do in order to make flash videos like any specific program or software i need for it
January 6th, 2010 at 1:59 am
Arin, after how much work and quality you put into the videos you’ve already made, I’m pretty sure you get to do whatever the fuck you want lol. As far as I’m concerned, you don’t owe anybody. Much as you appreciate and need fans, nobody is paying you (to the best of my knowledge) and nobody owns your brain. Just be confident about the amazing talent you have and secure in yourself and your ability to make the best decisions!
I’m really glad to hear you’re keeping an open mind! Keep on following what your heart tells you!

I just like to see your work and characters. All of your work is so energetic yet not annoying. I really actually enjoy it! Also, I can see your work and it entertains me every time! Which is really hard to do, I’m a very sinical person. I like to know you’re working on so much. Take your time.
January 16th, 2010 at 6:08 am
Some friends and I are actually working on a manga, and several other projects… I consider myself an amateur when it comes to creating manga, and actually make it look presentable… I mean, our situation is a very difficult one ( and one that we must overcome if we are to bring our dreams to life and share them for anyone to see) as we cannot set proper ground on the projects we want to begin. We waste a lot of time and sit around for days doing little to no productive activities at all. As I was reading how you used to waste time as well, but you learned how to manage your time and got all of your projects under line then started making things happen. You see… This is the first time I’ve visited this site in a long time, and reading on how you could not do all of these projects because you have too much on your hands already, and how much you’ve accomplished in your time… It gets me thinking. I admire you Egoraptor, admire your work… And I only wish that the day come soon when I can share my work with everyone else. Like you, I want to learn how to put value into my time. You’re a very talented person, and you do what you love…
I have a map, It’s labeled and marked, the only thing left to do is to walk the journey… I want to find the ability to make things happen.. I want it to happen, I should make it happen… I just need that one step…
Good luck on the rest of your projects…
And thanks

You don’t need one. If your baby is one that likes the rocking motion then you can buy a swing. They are marvelous! I put my twins in theirs and they are out in minutes. Just cuddling on the couch is fine and you can always bounce the baby in your arms. Good Luck!
